I know. I can hear the howls of protest from all my entrepreneur friends. But I want to run a business. What does selling have to do with running a large business?
My friend, the short and sweet answer is - everything !!!
Because if you do not know how to sell your products or services in the market - no one else will.
Because if you do not have the confidence and the conviction in your product or service, none of your paid employees - who have a much smaller stake in making your business successful - will.
Because if you are not able to persuade your customers, suppliers, vendors or investors that your company has a superior product or service with excellent market potential - no one else will.
If you want to build a business - learn how to sell. Join a company with excellent sales training programs; get a job in sales; or if that is not possible - get some sales training on your own. No matter what business you choose, your ability to sell is crucial to your success.
The most important skill for any entrepreneur or business owner is the ability to sell. Why? Because sales = income. And the income from sales is what supports all the other functions of the business.
No sales = No income = No business. Without sales there is no business - even if you have the best product or service in the universe. Many entrepreneurs fail because they don't know how to, refuse to, are afraid to, or don't think it is important to know how to - sell.
